Nature

Nature is just outside the door - pack your picnic basket and go to the woods or the fjord. Or how about a visit to one of the islands - Jegindø and Venø, which both have small communities and a great nature.

Flowers

VenøfærgenVenø.
The island is 7,5 km long and 1,5 km wide at its largest point and has excellent bathing beaches and shelter from the wind. 200 people live permanently on the island where you’ll find both a campsite, town, harbour to the north and a ferry berth to the south. It only takes 2 minutes to sail from Venø to the mainland.

Jegindø.
The island is 6 km long and 3 km wide. It is connected to the rest of Thyholm by a dam/bridge. About 500 people live permanently on Jegindø. The island has a grocer, harbour and the tiny museum “Æ Fywerhus” (the fjord house), with a diplay about  fishing in Jegindø.

Klosterheden.
Is actually no heath, but the largest plantation of Denmark. You can go about by foot, bike, car, or even horse! At lake Møllesøen in central Klosterheden you find Denmark's first population of beavers. To see beavers you must watch morning og evening.
