Lemvig and North-western Jutland is characterized by the North Sea, the cosy villages, the charming harbours and the beautiful landscape. There are many good reasons for visiting the Land of Hills and Waves.
The mountain city in North-western Jutland
Here among hills and waves, at the head of the cove Lem Vig, and at the foot of the beautiful moraine landscape, you’ll find the only mountain town of West Jutland: Lemvig. The town is also called the dimple of West Jutland, or affectionately, Lidenlund.
The Wild West
In the area you’ll also find the most authentic fishing port of the West Coast: Thyborøn.
This port has always been “the Wild West”. Ever since 1862, when the sea broke through the isthmus and formed what is today named Thyborøn Kanal, life here has been marked by wind and weather. Thyborøn is one of Denmark’s largest fishing ports with many enterprises linked to fishing.
Here you’ll also find the cities of Rom (Rome) and Paris along with the train station Victoria Street Station… Rom(e) is situated south of Lemvig, Paris to the east of Gudum and Victoria Street Station, named so by local residents once upon a time, is situated by Vejlby. If you were wondering.
